Forget The Market News

Writing Blogs Is Boring

October 27, 2024

A long time ago, I used to write a daily market report under the name Breakout123.com. I ended it in 2008 at the height of the financial crisis. Never did I imagine writing anything about the market again. There was nothing to write as all the fundamental knowledge required is out there in the open. Anyone with some amount of discipline, some amount of dedication, a substantial amount of patience and an even more substantial amount of humility could learn to be successful in the markets.

Decades later, as I got older I noticed that I was not as sharp as I was back when. I always kept a journal of my trades, an old habit I had developed when I used to trade treasury bonds and currency futures. But a few years into my journey as a speculator, I realized that just keeping a record of my trades was not as useful as adding in my reasoning behind each trade.

Since I strongly believe that speculation requires me to not interact with other market participants, it was suggested to me that perhaps I should start writing again. Just to keep myself sharp. I started writing my blogs here a few months ago to test it out and see how the world has changed in the past quarter of a century. I do not know if the world has changed or I have changed. I soon understood that writing a weekly blog was not my thing. I much preferred to write when I felt like it and when a good idea popped into my head. Hence, I have now decided to stop writing this blog.

Those who have been reading the past blogs will note that the same usual suspects are showing up on your watchlist of the potential winners. To recap, the stocks listed below should be on your watchlist as of this writing, October 27, 2024. Most of them were discussed at some point on a previous blog. The test is pretty simple. If some or many of these stocks listed below cannot show nice returns, the market in general has less than even odds of offering profit making opportunities.

The Perfect Watchlist

The current watch list should contain these stocks besides some others = VRNA (Verona Pharmaceuticals), VKTX (Viking Therapeutics), ADMA (Adma Biologics), RNA (Avidity Biosciences), PLTR (Palantir Technologies), SMMT (Summit Therapeutics), PCVX (Vaxcyte) , CVNA (Carvana), MREO (MeReo Biopharma), ARDX (Ardelyx), CAPR (Capricor Therapeutics), SRRK (School Rock Holdings), SLNO (Soleno Therapeutics), CRNX (Crinetics Pharmaceuticals), EBS (Emergent BioSolutions), ASTS (AST Space Mobile) . These are listed in no particular order.

The Perfect Method

Since we seem to be leaning into Biotechnology stocks from the look of the stocks on the watchlist, this seems to be as good a time as any to post the image below. Though, do not ignore the non-biotechnology stocks especially since they are rarely showing up on the list.

At some point, when my part-time assistant finds the time, he will upload the free sample chapter of The Perfect Method! How To Speculate In Stocks In A Bull Trend, on this website under the link to “Books.”

While reading books can be useful, there is no substitute for actual trading experience to learn. Everything in your life that you have truly learned and become an expert in, you did it via actually doing it. And not through books.

Alan, a young twenty-something part-time assistant, makes some videos for me off and on and posts them on YouTube. If you are interested on some videos about stocks, with plenty of lessons, you can find them here = https://www.youtube.com/@theperfectwatchlist
